Marking the the launch of our publication and monograph ‘Public Housing Works’ and the last two decades our council-led housing and masterplanning projects, both built and in progress, Paul Karakusevic and Pooja Agrawal, CEO of Public Practice, sat down to discuss the studio’s journey and work with with the public sector and local communities to create better public housing and neighbourhoods, as well as the major shifts in policy, ambition and public capacity that can be seen today. Looking back at the studio’s first projects and the challenging landscape of UK council housing in the early 1990s that needed to drastically improve, the talk explores some of our current public sector projects and queries where the sector may be heading next.
