We are delighted to have been selected for the next stage of the Bays West International Design Competition in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, a powerful example of ambitious public sector-led planning and place-making by the Bays West Delivery Authority and Government Architect NSW.
Bays West is one of the last strategic pieces of inner harbour land, and one of Sydney’s most extraordinary urban renewal opportunities. Led by the Bays West Delivery Authority, in partnership with the Government Architect NSW, the competition seeks bold and innovative ideas to inform a design-led urban framework for the delivery of up to 8,500 homes, including affordable and essential worker housing. The ambition is not simply to accommodate growth, but to demonstrate how higher density living can create an extraordinary and enduring place.
Our multi-disciplinary team is built on long-standing relationships and a shared ambition for shaping great places, bringing together a strong commitment to positive social and environmental outcomes, international urban design and housing experience and deep local knowledge of Sydney, its harbour and the opportunities that make Bays West such an important project for the city.
Our full team: Karakusevic Carson Architects, Breathe Architecture, ORG, SMM and Lahznimmo Architects.
