The Drawing School returns this summer at our studio

12 Jun 2026

Following the success of our inaugural Drawing School in summer 2025, the studio is launching its third round, taking place between 20 – 24 July at our Hoxton studio. Our programme is designed to supplement traditional architectural education and this year is open to candidates who will be entering either their 3rd, 4th or 5th year of architectural education in Autumn 2026.

Feedback from both our undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts last year showed that students highly value opportunities to engage with professionals and to learn how to apply theory in practice. Our Drawing School programme will hone in on drawing in plan, engaging students in housing typologies, regulatory fundamentals and approaches to visual communication aligned with our studio’s approach, whilst also helping students to build confidence in a drawing practice that is intentional, informed and coherent.

Supported by interactive seminars and exercises throughout the week, students will be tasked with responding to a housing design brief that meets the needs of an imagined end user. Drawing methods will be by hand only, to encourage a more agile approach to design development and communication.

This 1-week intensive Drawing School will:

  • be for up to 10 students currently in education who will be entering their 3rd year of undergraduate study or 4th or 5th year of postgraduate study
  • be open to students based in London
  • be taught exclusively through hand drawing
  • cover an introductory history and evolution of residential floorplan typologies
  • include an introduction to key building regulations that underpin housing design
  • focus on developing visual and verbal communication skills
  • include workshops, talks, seminars, group work, drawing activities, tutorials with architects in the studio, independent study, and presentations
  • take place at our Hoxton studio from 9:30am–5:00pm, Monday 20 July to Friday 24 July 2026

Please note that applicants must be available to attend the full course dates.
