Karakusevic Carson Architects appointed to Nightingale Estate Regeneration

9 Feb 2015

Karakusevic Carson Architects in collaboration with Henley Halebrown Rorrison and Stephen Taylor Architects have been shortlisted following a competitive tender to develop a masterplan for the next phase of regeneration at the Nightingale Estate in Hackney.

Previous phases involved the removal of four tower blocks, the construction of 275 new affordable homes, and the refurbishment of 397 Council homes to a 30 year life standard. The final stages for the site involve the council led development of more than two hectares as well as significant public realm improvements for both new and existing areas of the estate.

Townshend Landscape Architects have been appointed to design the landscape and public realm elements of the masterplan. The project will be led by Hackney Council’s estate regeneration team and will involve significant consultation with residents of the Nightingale Estate.
