Meridian Works was named the winner of unbuilt projects in the Meanwhile category at this year’s NLA Awards. The important project for the Meridian Water Masterplan in Enfield will re-purpose and retrofit two large industrial warehouses next to the River Lee Navigation, providing much needed artist studios for ACAVA Arts as well as Europe’s largest open access workshop for Building BloQs. This activity which is directly associated with the site’s legacy of making and production will help to establish a sense of place and community in the currently under populated area before further regeneration commences. Two other studio projects were also awarded commendations: Meridian Water (Masterplans & Area Strategies) and Dujardin Mews (Housing).
